BACKSTORY
I've always
been interested in recording my own music or the music of others. This
interest has led me to be a mobile disc jockey for 10 years with Randy
St. James, Dean Gillette and James Holland, study broadcasting and work
at a couple of radio stations. I began to become interested in virtual
studios as an inexpensive way to breaking into the world of recording
and production. In 2006, I started Sharky's Studios and began recording
my own music and the music of others. During January of 2007, I started
producing my first project with a local band called SR. They're
a local group of teenagers that were writing and performing their own
music. They brought me some rough stuff they had recorded. I worked
with them to develop the songs and record them. Below are some samples
of what their music was when they brought it to me and how it sounded
when we finished the project.
SAMPLES -
The "before" tracks were recorded at a studio in Harrisville, MI.
The "after" tracks were recorded at my studio. Keep in mind that
the singer was turned14 during recording. The rest of the band was
15 and 16 years old.
I suggest that you download the clips and play them on a decent sounding
system. Your computer speakers won't do anything justice.
